I’m Samantha, a radio producer and journalist.

I am a journalist based in Toronto. I am deeply passionate about reporting on stories focusing on the Asian community, with a focus on entertainment and pop culture.

My works have appeared in South China Morning Post, GRAMMYTeen Vogue, VICENBC NewsRefinery29, Complex Canada, HuffPost Canada and NOW Magazine.

I have also reported and produced stories across Canada in cities including Toronto, Sudbury, Regina, Edmonton and Kitchener-Waterloo. I also have international experience, working as a video producer in Hong Kong at the South China Morning Post.

Aside from writing, I am a radio producer for CBC Radio’s largest local current affairs show Metro Morning, reporting on all issues around the Toronto metropolitan area. I have also worked on flagship national programs within the network, including The Current, As It Happens and Cross Country Checkup.

For the latter, I was part of a team that won Gold at the New York Festivals Radio Awards for “Best Coverage Of Ongoing News Story.” I have also contributed to CBC Programs like Now or Never, World Report, Day 6 and The Doc Project.

Sometimes, I also comment about my interests on radio programs, like the McDonald’s BTS Meal or my family’s preference to wash dishes by hand over the dishwasher.
